This Love University of Branton Book 1 edition by Nazarea Andrews Literature Fiction eBooks
The first book in the University of Branton series, Nazarea Andrews brings us a refreshing new story that's perfect for summer! She wants a summer job and a ride to a wedding.
He wants an assistant and a distraction from the mess his life had become.
They didn't know they needed each other.
Avery Emili needs two grand. Two grand and a plane ticket--her sister is counting on her to get to Jamaica for her wedding. But the semester is over, and tutoring college freshman and high school students has dried up until the fall.
Atticus Grimes needs help--the messy split with his wife left the twenty-eight year old professor scrambling to keep things together as the semester winds down. Now he's got a research grant he has to actually do research for and all he wants to do is drown himself in a tall bottle of bourbon.
When Avery sees his ad for an assistant, all she's thinking is a summer job. But as they spend time together, in the office and out, both of them begin to realize something is there. Something that can't happen--he's a professor and she's a student. And both of them have histories, pasts that won't let go. Can two broken people pulled apart by expectations find a way to be whole?
I was scrolling through recommendations on goodreads last weekend when I cam across this gem. Mostly for convenience I read on my kindle, but for some reason I decided to purchase this story in paperback. Normally if I love a book that I've read on my kindle I will usually buy the paperback version as well, because there is honestly nothing better in my opinion than a paperback book to curl up to at night and read. Anyways back to the point! I cannot begin to tell you how lucky I was to come across this book!
Andrews offers a fresh new twist to the professor, student love story. Atticus is an amazing Hero, he's a history professor at the University of Branton (Just an FYI I'm working towards my own history degree) so this only made me love this book even more. Atticus is in need of a new research assistant, his old one who just happens to be his ex-wife has left him lost and a little heartbroken.
Avery is looking for a summer job in order to pay for a ticket to her sisters wedding. Neither were looking for a relationship but the connection was unavoidable. Avery is smart, and hesitant to trust because of events in her past. Yes she has been hurt but Andrews uses a new story line, and it was refreshing to read.
Avery and Atticus make an amazing couple, both are passionate and loyal, and extremely loving of everyone around them. The setbacks and problems they face only make them grow stronger as a couple. The story is told in dual POV which as you know I absolutely LOVE. Please do not hesitate to read this book, it is the perfect summer romance read!

This Love University of Branton Book 1 edition by Nazarea Andrews Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Overall Opinion I thought this had a great blurb and a lot of potential, but sadly didn't live up to it. My biggest complaint was the pacing and closure (see below sections). Next, it would be that we didn't get into these characters very deeply. That's sometimes fine for me if the book makes up for it with some good steamy scenes, but overall I would say the steam was kind of...meh. I am going with a 2.5 stars because I feel that it was in between "I didn't like it" 2 stars and "just ok" 3 stars.
**See goodreads.com/NMmomof4 for my full review with spoilers**
Brief Summary of the Storyline This is Avery and Atticus's story. They meet when Avery answers a Craigslist ad for a research assistant job, because she needs money to go to her sister's upcoming wedding. They are instantly attracted, but fight the attraction for a good while mainly because he is a professor at her school. Eventually, things get physical and stronger feelings end up developing. There are some sexy times, some ex drama from both ends, and some issues with careers and family...but they get a HFN ending.
POV This alternated between Avery and Atticus's POV.
Overall Pace of Story Overall it was ok until the end (see closure section). I did have some issues with the constant changing of POV within the chapters, because it made it feel choppy. I never skimmed though.
Instalove Kind of. It wasn't the obnoxious kind that bothers me, but they definitely developed feelings quickly.
H rating 3 stars. Atticus. He was ok. He was a hot dirty talker at times, but I wanted him to be a better communicator all throughout the book.
h rating 2 stars. Avery. I had big issues with her pushing the H away.
Sadness level Low. No tissues needed.
Push/Pull Yes
Heat level Moderate. They have some decent chemistry, but I felt like it could've been hotter tbh.
Descriptive sex Yes
Safe sex I guess...Condoms were used until the h said "I'm covered" which I guess would mean her std and birth control status -- but who knows (there was no mention from the H) and then they went without condoms. No mention of past practices that I remember.
OW/OM drama Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM No
Cheating No
Separation Yes
Possible Triggers Mild
Closure This had nowhere near enough closure for me! It was an abrupt ending that I would call a HFN at best. There were a lot of unanswered questions left.
How I got it I paid the $2.99 on .
