Torpedo Juice Serge Storms Tim Dorsey Books
Look out Florida! Serge Storms is off his meds once again and his perpetually-stoned buddy Coleman has risen from the dead (okay, apparently he wasn't dead--just a mistake) to join him on more outlandish schemes. This time around Serge has decided his biological clock is ticking and he needs to get married. As with anything Serge does, he goes at it with a maniacal zeal and soon finds his soulmate. But marriage isn't exactly what Serge thought it was going to be...Not as many of the um, inventive, ways to kill someone in this book, but you'll probably never think about an MRI the same way again. As with any story involving Serge and Coleman, there are plenty of drugs in this one, as well as a druglord named Scarface, a missing fortune in drug money, crooked executives, inept cops, vampire cultists, The Swamp Ape, clowns and a couple of librarians. Good stuff once again!

Torpedo Juice Serge Storms Tim Dorsey Books Reviews
Headline says it all - Dorsey takes you on a wild ride that has Serge getting hitched and the commentary is priceless - guest towels? Typical Serge Storms - disjointed story all over the place that will keep you laughing and intrigued.
Dorsey gives us a sociopathic serial killer, a drug addled sidekick, and a slightly twisted population of Florida. Throw in mutilated bodies, car wrecks, and several very ingeneous ways ofcommitting homicide and you have one very funny book with a point to make. He holds up a mirror to a society in need of review and makes us laugh because if you can't laugh at our foibles and foolishness as a society you have to cry. Laughter is better and I still take time to see and consider his points. Dorsey's stories vary slightly from book to book but they are all very readible. May Serge cause havoc for a long time to come.
This author continues to amaze me with his creativity. This is book seven in the series, and I can’t wait to start the next one. To quote Forest Gump, they are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.
I have read all of tim Dorsy's Serge Storms series of adventures and adore the humor and well crafted plots. There are just so many oddballs and strange things going on in Florida that I have expierenced in FLA over the years that Tim captures so well.
I was also glad that Coleman has made a return! Serge and Coleman are complete opposite personalities and give Tim Dorsey a huge amount of material to play with.
Torpedo Juice made me smile and several times burst out laughing.
I don't know how Serge gets so creative in his psychopathic murder plots but that's half the fun of Tim's series. I can't wait to read the next book.
Best,
Snake Plisken
The seventh great Serge A. Storms tale (although there is no great need to read them in order). As a chronicler of weird and wacky Florida, author Tim Dorsey takes a backseat to no one. As an obsessive-compulsive sociopath with homicidal tendencies, amateur Florida historian Serge is the best.
Highly recommended.
I read Torpedo Juice a week after a very busy booze soaked thoroughly entertaining trip to the Florida keys. Now I need to go back because I obviously missed a lot. I really enjoyed the way that Serge and Coleman wind their way through the islands hitting various scenes, events, and locations while having their typical linked series of misadventures.
I also enjoyed a sub plot having nothing to do with the keys. Serge gets married and goes through all the phases from courtship to marriage to splitsville in just a few weeks. His daily journal of married life is hilarious.
I guess I'd better start a listmania list for my Dorsey readings to track what I've read because, after two books, I intend to read everything this guy has published.
Serge's 'Night Tour' is at an all time High with Coleman running point for encouraging Serge's innate desire to hit all the kitschy-est and most historical bars and night spots in Florida's storied history.
If your're familiar with the characters you won't be disappointed, and if you're a first timer to the Serge Storms saga you deserve doing yourself a favor by jumping into the storyline ASAP.
The only question left on my mind How have they NOT made a move out of one of these by now?!? Serge's story would make a heavy hitter for HBO or E&A along the lines of Justified or Breaking Bad.
Enjoy!
